FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from families joining or transitioning to Grove Pediatrics.

Is Grove Pediatrics a new practice or the same one?

We're continuing the practice previously run by Dr. Kenneth J. Kim at the same Fairfax office for the past 12 years. The name and ownership are changing, and Dr. Hojin Lee is now the pediatrician, but the office location and much of the care team remain the same.

When will Grove Pediatrics open?

Our target opening date is November 2, 2026, with the possibility of opening as early as October 19, 2026.

Do I need to fill out new forms if I was already a patient of Dr. Kim?

No — your existing paperwork carries over. We only ask returning patients to complete one short acknowledgment form confirming that Dr. Lee will continue your child's care and that our current office policies apply. See our Forms page.

Will my child's medical records transfer automatically?

Yes. Records are transferring with the practice. If you have questions about your specific record, please call our office at 703-246-0022.

I haven't decided whether to stay — is that OK?

Yes, absolutely. Whether you've already requested your records elsewhere or you're still deciding, you're always welcome to continue care with us at our same Fairfax location under Dr. Lee. Just call our office whenever you're ready.

Is my care team staying the same?

Yes. Our manager and Medical Assistant, Ms. Jae Yom, and much of our front-desk and clinical support team are staying on to support Dr. Lee, so you'll see the same familiar, friendly faces at your visits.

What ages do you see?

We care for children from newborn through 26 years old, including school, sports, camp, and college-entry physicals.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most major plans, including Medicaid, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Anthem, CareFirst, and Cigna (employer-sponsored), and self-pay is welcome. See the full list of accepted plans — we're still adding plans, so please call 703-246-0022 to confirm yours before your first visit.

Can I walk in without an appointment?

We see patients by appointment only. If you arrive without one and we're able to fit you in, a walk-in fee applies (see Office Policies). Please call ahead — we do our best to accommodate same-day sick visits.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Please call at least 24 hours in advance. Late rescheduling and missed appointments incur fees — see Office Policies for details.
